It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 4 years since we opened our first official brick and mortar space for The Ironstone Nest. My how much has changed in 4 years!?!? I was reminded this morning that it was “4 years ago” when a Memory popped up in my Facebook feed. It was an article that was published 4 years ago about our kitchen/dining room and how I created the space to be as functional as possible for our family, but with the feel of a farmhouse: “Favorite Space a Stylish Command Center for Sun Prairie Family”.  You wouldn’t know it’s a 1967 tri-level, would you?

This was the photograph that was included with the article, just a few days before we opened our first store!  The dining room and kitchen space evolved a few times over those 4 years (because I can NEVER seem to leave well enough alone):

and so did our family and our lives.  We are so grateful for all of the lessons learned along the way and are so grateful that we always listened to our quiet voices that said “just jump in”.  We always listened and, although we are not today where we thought we would be when this photograph was taken, we are very grateful for all of the twists and turns, and wonderful people we’ve met along the way.

I’m beginning to feel a little better, so I’m hoping to start blogging again on a more regular basis here soon.  Thank you for those that have stuck it out with me.  It’s been a very challenging 7 months, but I feel like I may finally be turning a corner.  And I’m so grateful you’re still here!  THANK YOU, from the very bottom of my heart!
